Ops

Like a motorboat, I did it again.

Like little contemporary dancers each with their own orbits and paths, sometimes colliding and encountering, and sometimes not, I did it again.

This is a world with nowhere to stand when a moon comes by…

Without no solid surface, deeper secrets of this cosmic dance are revealed; I did it again.

Ops is a dance piece about obsessive minds, science and Saturn as a planet and as God. The relation between alienation and love. It’s a game with space and time which creates a playful dance performance.

It explores how the immense power and mystery of the planet Saturn mirror human inner struggles and desires, presenting Saturn not only as a celestial body but also as a metaphorical god, embodying time, discipline, and limitation.

The performance examines the intricate relationship between alienation and love, portraying how the overwhelming forces of both can shape individual identities and connections. The dancers’ movements reflect the tension between yearning and distance, creating a visual dialogue between the human condition and cosmic forces. Alienation is felt in the isolation of the self, while love emerges as both a liberation and a confinement.

Through this exploration, the piece manipulates concepts of space and time, blurring the boundaries between them to create a playful yet profound narrative. As the dancers navigate the stage, they bend and stretch the flow of time, allowing moments of spontaneity and whimsy to coexist with moments of deep introspection. The choreography becomes a playful game, where the laws of physics and the emotional realms of the mind are tested and twisted, inviting the audience to reflect on the eternal pull of love, the constraints of time, and the vast unknown of the universe.

In this dance performance, “Saturnus” is both a reflection of the human mind and a celebration of the cosmic dance of existence—capturing the delicate balance between chaos and order, obsession and surrender.
